Tree Rings Counseling

Welcome, you have arrived.

Embarking on the journey of counseling can feel intimidating initially, but it also signifies our capacity as humans to desire to grow and find new ways to navigate a spectrum of experiences.

While our sessions may delve into deep emotions, they can also be filled with moments of genuine laughter and lightness.

My approach

Pain and hardships are real and inevitable aspects of our lives and cannot be avoided. As humans, we naturally seek pleasure and try to minimize pain, yet confronting our challenges directly is often the path to growth. Together, we will explore the strategies you’ve developed to cope with difficult emotions. By using your strengths and building resilience, we can work towards facing challenges with courage, being present in the moment, and embracing your life more fully on your own terms.

The Role Counseling Plays

Counseling can be a tool to get to know ourselves more fully. Some of my clients have first-hand experience of how their physical health and mental health are intrinsically intertwined and want help to bring their health into alignment. Counseling can be responsive as well as proactive.

The Space

Conveniently located upstairs in a charming historic home (shared with Arts Missoula!) in central Missoula, MT, the space is open, bright, and filled with vibrant art, offering a comforting setting for healing.

Services Provided:

I support clients across a range of goals, including grief, depression, life transitions, and anxiety. My experience includes working with individuals, couples, families, and groups of all ages. I take a holistic approach, recognizing the mind-body connection, and incorporate various modalities as needed, such as mindfulness practices, narrative therapy, and art therapy. My aim is to provide a supportive space where you can navigate life’s challenges, gain clarity, and foster your inner strength.

I am currently accepting new clients, ages 11 and up.

Payment Options:

I accept insurance plans including Allegiance, BlueCross BlueShield, and Missoula County Insurance.

For those without insurance, I offer a sliding scale pricing to help make counseling more accessible. While I’m unable to accept Medicare or Medicaid at this time, I am committed to working with you to find a solution that fits your needs, including payment plans and flexible visit options. Your access to counseling is important to me, and I’m here to support you in any way I can.

Grief Work

With a background in grief work, some clients come to me after the death of a family member, friend, or colleague. I have a special interest in honoring the human-animal bond present in pet loss. Grief can also be present for some of my clients in non-death losses such as the loss of homes, careers, ability in our bodies, etc.

Grief can be a lifelong journey just as it can change into something else. I’d like to be a support for you on your grief journey to help transform your grief into something more manageable and possibly even something remarkable.

A bit about me.

Hi there, I’m Linds Sanders, PCLC.

Before entering private practice, I worked as a grief specialist with Tamarack Grief Resource Center with youth, adults, and elders through grief of many forms and expressions. Today I work with clients with a range of goals and concentrations, grief being one of them.

As an artist, I believe artistic vision and influence goes beyond fine art and informs how we approach problem solving and viewing the world. If it’s appropriate, I feel comfortable engaging with expressive art modalities.

Feel free to reach out below and see if we’re a good fit for each other and the work you’d like to do in your personal counseling.
